InstallerPro™ is designed for the professional CI involved in installations using Just Add Powerʼs HD over IP solutions. The purpose of the software is to allow fast and easy configuration of managed switches out of the box and custom IP configuration of Just Add Powerʼs 2G HD over IP hardware. The software will perform any of the desired initial configuration functions of the managed network switch. This includes setting passwords, defining video sources, video screens, IP address, etc. InstallerPro™ is designed to prepare the switch to be controlled by any of the available control systems on the market. It is 100% compatible with Just Add Softwareʼs MediaSwitcher™ product and can generate or read MediaSwitcher™ configuration files.

Before InstallerPro can be used it must first be purchased and registered with a valid license. To obtain a license please contact Just Add Software, Just Add Power or your local authorized representative. If the computer is connected to the Internet, the fastest way to request a license code is to enter your name and e-mail address in the spaces provided (required for registration). Once this is done, the “Send Registration Request” button will be enabled. Click this button and an e-mail will be sent to Just Add Software requesting a license code. Once your purchase has been verified, a license code will be provided via e-mail.

InstallerPro™ is a subscription based product. The initial purchase provides for one year of updates and technical support. After the first year, a renewal license will need to be purchased in order to continue to receive updates and technical support. If you choose not to update, the software will continue to function but you will not be eligible for software updates or technical support. When a valid registration code is entered, a message with your subscription expiration date will be displayed. You can also find your expiration date on the “About” window of the software or by opening the Registration window (under the File menu).

The 2G Just Add Power HD over IP device are available in the same 4 form factors as the 1G family (Standard Transmitter, Convertible Rackmount 3X Transmitter, Standard Receiver, and PoE Receiver), with additional form factors being developed and expected to be available in the near future. One of the primary goals of the 2G HD over IP solution was to significantly improve the video quality in comparison to the already popular and well received 1G solution. The objective is to deliver distributed HD video plus multichannel audio over the LAN that is visually identical to the source content. In order to achieve this visually lossless objective it is necessary to move from a 100BT network architecture to a 1000BT platform. This 1000% increase in specified network speed gives us the necessary bandwidth to deliver an uncompromised 1080p video signal. The end result is the ability to replicate stunning 1080p video that cannot be distinguished from the source content, allowing Custom Installers to satisfy the video quality demands of the most demanding clients.

2-Way RS232 Device Control and Mounting Wings

All 4 of the 2G models have an unexpected bonus capability - RS232 control ports. So, in addition to being able to build an any-sized HD over IP matrix, these devices also will allow the custom installer to send/receive 2-way RS232 commands to any devices attached to the matrix. This includes the ability to control all of the attached displays using RS232 or via IR using a variety of readily available and easily supported RS232 to IR interfaces. The other surprise feature in the finished models shown here are the integrated mounting wings. Both of these bonus features (RS232 and integrated mounting wings) are targeted to the needs and demands of the CEDIA installer.

The last significant difference between the 1G and 2G solution is the elimination of the scaler function in the HD over IP Receiver. While many customers have benefited from the scaler function in the 1G family, it has also been an occasional problem for some high end installations. This is due to a combination of factors such as undesirable EDID settings in some screens and double scaling. Furthermore, the scalers integrated into the high end monitors installed by professional installers often have a far superior range of features. The introductory 2G HD over IP Receivers will not provide any sort of scaling function at all. Instead, the original video signal that is connected to the 2G HD over IP Transmitter will be output at the source resolution. This change will make it necessary for the installer to ensure that the selected screens for a 2G HD over IP solution are able to support the video signal resolution settings of the distributed source devices.

The 2G+ models are backwards compatible with standard 2G Transmitters/Receivers. Available only through authorized dealers, the 2G+ products provide enhanced capabilities designed to address some of the most requested additional functions from the 2G user community.

The Projector Connector™ HD/IP allows you to simultaneously send out an HD Signal (up to 1080p) to one or more HD video projectors or LCD Panels and return an IR Control Signal to the source using CAT5/6/7 cable over a standard Ethernet infrastructure (alternate V.90 firmware available in our Downloads section must be installed for IR control). Can be used to distribute HD digital content from multiple sources to up to 200 remote displays on a LAN by cascading multiple Ethernet switches as needed. Longer distance applications can be sent across LAN Fiber backbones, allowing the farthest display to be located many miles from the 1080p source device while sustaining excellent picture & sound quality. Each device is installed using 1 piece of UTP or STP cable. AV signals are transmitted digitally over the CAT5/6/7 cable without any signal loss. The integrated Scaler function allows different input and output resolutions up to 2048x2048 (different output displays can be at different resolutions). The Return IR Control function is best suited for a Point-To-Point application, and is of limited value in a Point-To-Many environment. For installations in a Many-To-Many environment it is necessary to use a third party home automation solution to provide distributed remote control functionality.

NOTE: Support for multiple transmitters requires a Managed network switch with VLAN/IGMP support. Standard LAN switches can only support 1 transmitter.

Not an HDMI Balun, but an HD over IP system. This means you can create your own A/V Ethernet network and all of the recievers will find the transmitter automatically. It may even be used over smaller existing house networks and low cost LAN switches and routers.

Many-to-Many Home Theater Matrix

Any HD source can simultaneously be diplayed on any number of display devices (if multiple displays are permitted by the HD source) using VLAN isolation on a Managed Ethernet switch. Using an HTTP GUI like MediaSwitcher(tm) a PC (wired or wireless) can control what signal is being watched at each location. Sophisticated Home Theater installations can use a programmable console to control the system using RS232 commands. The Managed switch must support IGMP and permit duplicate IP addresses across the VLAN domains. Each device is installed using 1 piece of UTP or STP cable. AV signals are transmitted digitally over the CAT5/6/7 cable without any signal loss. The integrated Scaler function allows different input and output resolutions up to 2048x2048 (different output displays can be at different resolutions). The Return IR Control function is best suited for a Point-To-Point application, and is of limited value in a Point-To-Many environment. For installations in a Many-To-Many environment it is necessary to use a third party home automation solution to provide distributed remote control functionality.

NOTE: Support for multiple transmitters requires a Managed network switch with VLAN/IGMP support. Standard LAN switches can only support 1 transmitter.

Using the an HTTP GUI like MediaSwitcher on a PC (wired or wireless) owner can control what signal is being watched at each location. Sophisticated Home Theater installations can use a programmable console to control the system using RS232 commands. The Managed switch must support IGMP and permit duplicate IP addresses across the VLAN domains. You must use a third party home automation solution to provide distributed remote control functionality.

The 1G HD over IP™ Power over Ethernet Receiver is part of the Projector Connector™ HDMI/IP™ family which allows you to simultaneously send out an HD Signal (up to 1080p) to one or more HD video projectors or LCD Panels and return an IR Control Signal to the source using CAT5/6/7 cable over a standard Ethernet infrastructure (alternate V.90 firmware available in our Downloads section must be installed for IR control). Can be used to distribute HD digital content from multiple sources to up to 200 remote displays on a LAN by cascading multiple Ethernet switches as needed. Home automation drivers have been written for many of these switches. These drivers are specific to the switch make/model and must often be customized to deliver the desired results. Please call us with the details on the home automation platform you intend to use to see if a driver has already been written to support a certain switch. We have drivers available for several platforms, including AMX, Crestron, Control4, RTI, Savant, URC, and Vantage, with more being developed all the time.
